Brazil. Bahia. Palmeiras Mun. Serras dos Lençois. Lower slopes of Morro do Pai Inacio, ca. 14.5 km N.W. of Lençois just N. of the main Seabra-Itaberaba road. Alt. 700 - 1000 m. (2297 - 3281 ft.)

Description:

Shrub to 3 m. Leaves coriaceous, dark green above, paler beneath. Calyx dark olive green, petals white, anthers orange with white filaments. Flowers perfumed. Young fruit grey-green, with brownish tinge. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Open grassy slopes with marshy ground; low shrubs & low evergreen woodland in valleys by small stream and in shelter of sandstone rocks.
