Description:

Rhizomatous, forming clumps of 10-20 upright stems, stem with node at base, an internode 2 m high, 1-1.5 cm diam, bearing above short (2-5 cm long) region of approximate node thickenings, at the tip 15-20 leaves, flowering branches 2-stalked, flowers paired, sepals reddish-pink, petals yellow, staminodia orange-yellow.

Habitat:

In scrub thickets in and bordering savanna.
