Location:

Mexico. Veracruz. Chocomán Mun. 8.5 km. by road W of Chocamán, at about the highest point on the gravel road to Xocotla. Alt. 1760m. (5774 ft.)

Description:

Shrub 3 m. tall. Inflorescence erect; leaves hanging; petals white; anthers yellow. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

Habitat:

Bosque caducifolio. Steep, rocky (calcareous), sloeps with maize fields and patches of second growth brush, the whole area much disturbed. Dominated by Alnus acuminata ssp. arguta.
