Description:

Canopy tree, 22 m. x 45 cm. diam., with large secondary branch system. Crown 10 m. diam. Corolla greenish-white, almost patent at mid-day. Small bee visiting inflorescences (borne near ends of branchlets). No buttresses, bark rough, dark, pitted. Few fruits, immature. Fallen fruits red. Fresh resin clear, watery. Resin in fruits gummy. All leaves unifoliolate. Flowers with sweet odor. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
Habitat:

Southern Bahian Moist Forest. Relictual forest coverig ca. 500 ha. Wet hardpan soil with deep litter.
