Description:

Tree 16m x 15.9cm diam. Low buttresses. Bark flaky, trunk with horizontal folds. Red streaks on inflorescence rachis. Flowers cream, disk & anthers yellow.

Habitat:

Terra firme forest on hilly terrain. Understory mostly acaulescent palms and tree seedlings. Soil sandy clay loam.
