Description:

Culms forming loose clumps of 5-10 culms, these solid and about 1 cm. or less in diam., reaching up into the trees in a vinelike fashion to 10m. Two small spines produced at basal nodes. Oral setae prominent, white, dense. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

Habitat:

Mata higrófila, secondary. Mata pertubada, near Salobrinho. Growing in forest in close assciation with Atractantha cardinalis. Trees ca. 20-30m tall.
