Guyana. Cuyuni-Mazaruni. Pakaraima Mts, toe slopes on NW side of Mt. Ayanganna. Alt. 1100 m. (3609 ft.)

Description:

Shrub. Arching shrub 2.0 m; twig and petiole hairs maroon; leaves with white hairs; stamens yellow. Fruit maturing red, with maroon hairs, globose.

Habitat:

Montane evergreen forest, canopy 30-40 m; creek with sandstone talus, rich in herbs, soils sandstone and laterite derived. Forest including Lecythidaceae; rich in epiphytes, lianas, fungi. Frequent.
