Georeferencing Method: Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012 (Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Furo Maracá, the portion of Rio Uraricoera south of Ilha Maracá, in Mun. Alto Alegre, Roraima. Referred to the ICMBio website: Estação Ecológica de Maracá on Ilha de Maracá (http://sistemas.mma.gov.br/cnuc/index.php?ido=relatorioparametrizado.exibeRelatorio&relatorioPadrao=true&idUc=57) and Geonames.org website (http://www.geonames.org/maps/google_3.333_-61.467.html) for location information for Furo Maracá. Furo Maracá seems to be the stretch of Rio Uraricoera south of Ilha Maracá. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located Furo Maracá (assumed to be the entire stretch of Rio Uraricoera adjacent to Ilha Maracá). Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the beginning of Furo Maracá (located at the most eastern portion of Ilha de Maracá, nearby the region of Santo Rosa) to the approximate end of the canal (at the most western portion of Ilha de Maracá) then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of this line. Chose a point along Furo Maracá nearest to the midpoint of this line; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates, on the adjacent shore of Ilha de Maracá (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Furo Maracá. Input coordinates, linear extent (35309.1 m), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.)
Coordinate Uncertainty(m): 35309.1
Geodetic Datum: WGS84
Coordinates: (3.32304, -61.6909)
