Suriname. Sipaliwini. N side of Kuruni Island, E of trail from airstrip to N branch of Kuruni River around island, ca. 30 airline km E of confluence on Corantijn River. Alt. 180 m. (591 ft.)

Description:

Tree, 30 m tall with large buttresses, sterile, host to strangler fig (Evans, et. al. 1911). Phenology of specimen: Fruit.

Habitat:

Slightly disturbed primary lowland moist forest (some larger trees removed over much of island during construction of airstrip ca. 30 years ago).
