"Pampas del Madidi" area of the middle reaches of the Rio Madidi basin: "Campamento Malanoche" on the N shore of the Rio Enatahua (Rio Inambari according to one guide), ca. 3.5 linear km NE of the confluence of the Enatahua with the Rio Madidi, ca. 2 km downriver from camp. Alt. 153 m. (502 ft.)

Description:

Pachycaul tree, ca. 1.5 m tall, inflorescence axes yellowish, pedicel and calyx brownish, petals orange, anthers white, stigma yellow; SILICA COLLECTION.
Habitat:

Riverside and moist forest with poorly drained and inundated areas, flat to gradually sloping terrain, clay soils.
