Georeferencing Method: Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012 (Unable to find the precise location of "Vicinal JL-7;" instead, georeferenced to the geographic center of the reservoir area of the Usina Hidrelétrica de Samuel (UHE Samuel), known as Represa de Samuel, in Porto Velho, Rondônia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located Represa de Samuel, the reservoir of the UHE Samuel. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the farthest extremes of the reservoir, then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of the line. Chose a point along the eastern shore of the reservoir nearest to the midpoint of the line; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Coordinates selected on the eastern shore of the reservoir because it is the most likely location, due to the proximity of a main road, BR-364. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the reservoir. Input coordinates, linear extent (29050.4 m), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Defined Area).)
Coordinate Uncertainty(m): 29052.5
Geodetic Datum: WGS84
Coordinates: (-8.92046, -63.4182)
