Description:

Stems cespitose, to 2 m tall, 1cm diam, spiny. Leaves 8: sheath 15 cm long; petiole 17 cm long; rachis 70 cm long, without spines; pinnae 23 per side, in one plane, regularly arranged but with gaps. Inflorescence interfoliar, pendulous.
