Brazil. Maranhão. Loreto Mun. "Ilha de Balsas" region, between the Rios Balsas and Parnaíba. Fazenda "Morros": "Chapada Alta", ca. 12 km. south of main house or ca. 40 south of Lorêto. Along trail to Santa Bárbara. Alt. 350 - 400 m. (1148 - 1312 ft.)

Description:

Short woody vine. Fls.21 mm. wide, flower face 25 mm. tall. Petals violet, standard yellow at center base, keel reddish-purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
