Growing along a roadside in semi-desert thorn scrub on rock/gravelly loam from E-facing slope, with Antigonon leptopus, Aristida adscensionis, Bouteloua barbata, Bursera microphylla, Cardiospermum corindum, Cercidium sp., etc.
