Description:

Tree, 12m tall. Trunk 50 cm in diameter at breast height. Bark very thick, scalling in irregular pattern; the upper boughs bear rose-like thorns 3cm tall. Blaze: wood white; cortex very broad, brown outsde and white within with longitudinal stripes of very pale orange fibres. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
Habitat:

In cerrado/cerradão transition.
