Description:

Shrub of 90 cm; green immature fr.; fls. in bud, covered with long red hairs. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Flat plain with serras (mesas) and intersected with streams. Open cerrado vegetation, sandy soil, high insolation. Occasional small trees. Grasses and sedges dominate. Occasional wet seeps.
