Brazil. Mato Grosso. 20 km N of the Base Camp of the Expedition. (Base Camp c. 270 km N of Xavantina.).

Description:

Tree, 12 m tall. Trunk 50 cm in girth 1 m above ground level. No buttresses. Bark thin, white, detaching in papery scales. Wood white and resembly that of Miconia. Petals pale pink. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Growing in swampy gallery forest.
