Brazil. Mato Grosso. Barra do Garças Mun. Serra do Roncador. 232 km along new road NNE of village of Xavantina. (28 km due S of Royal Society- Royal Geographic Society Base Camp.) 4.4 km S of the creek, "Corrego dos Porcos". In Stand 7. Alt. 450 m. (1476 ft.)

Description:

Shrub 4 m. tall. Capsules dull red, each with one shining black seed. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.

Habitat:

Low-tree & scrub woodland cerrado with trees 3 (-4) m. tall. (Thicker-trunked trees very few & only to 6 m. tall.) Some parts lack trees thereby forming open scrub. Not burned last season.
