Description:

Shrub 1.25 m. tall. Fruit ripe, valves open, orange; seed shining black with bright yellow aril. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
Habitat:

Xeromorphic low open shrub "cerrado" growing among large outcropping blocks of weathered quartzite on top of low ridge (natural undisturbed habitat).
