Description:

Tree. Tree 30 m x 60 cm, outer bark grayish brown, with long, wavy, deep fissures, also deeply pitted, thin, inner bark maroon, fibrous. Fruits orange, globose, 2 cm diam. Endocarp extremely hard. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
Habitat:

Terra firme forest on hilly terrain, canopy discontinuous, few palms, some patches of Guadua (arborescent bamboo).
