Description:

terrestrial herb. Terrestrial herb 1.5m, inflorescences axillary or arising from ground; inflorescence bracts red without except orange at base, orange within, fruits obovoid, dark purple. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.

Habitat:

Unlogged forest on terra firme near recently opened unpaved access road. Some patches dominated by Guadua sarcocarpa; Tetragastris and Brosimum common. Clay soils.
