Description:

Spindly tree, ca. 6 m tall, growing in low wet area near igarape, inflorescence and flower buds light green, flower parts dark red, sepals externally with margins whitish-green, inflorescence attracting aphids and ants; SILICA COLLECTION.
Habitat:

Secondary and fairly mature "terra firme" forest on clay and sandy soils over hilly terrain dissected by small streams.
