Georeferencing Method: Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012 (Georeferenced to the approximate geographic midpoint of Igarapé do Mindú in Manaus, Amazonas. Referred to Skyscrapercity.com website for a reference map of the path of Igarapé do Mindú (http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab30/maocity73/mindu.jpg). Using the reference map and Google Maps - Satellite View, located Igarapé do Mindú. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line beginning at the mouth of the stream (confluence of Igarapé Mindú and Rio Negro) to the approximate source of the stream (approximated through the dense forest cover), then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of the river. Measured to approximately this calculated distance from the mouth of the stream toward the center; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint, on the adjacent shore (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Igarapé do Mindú, 8727.82 m), and measurement error (.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.)
