Bolivia. Santa Cruz. Obispo Santistevan Prov. 23 km (straight line) NW of bridge at Chané Independencia. Alt. 220 m. (722 ft.)

Description:

Inflorescence erect, the bracts bright yellow-orange with more yellow tips.

Habitat:

Disturbed area along shallow drainage ditch between road and fields, the ditch mostly leaving recently dried soil, but some water still in the deeper part. Patch at edge of trees and drainage ditch. Very flat, silty soil, mostly cleared of forest for fields of Saccharum officinarum, Glycine max.
