Discussion:

This resembles to some degree S. pendula which has foliaceous stipules, bracts, and bracteoles, and mucronate anthers. There is also some resemblance to S. conferta which, like the other relatives, has mucronate anthers. There is little doubt that these are the nearest relatives, but the affinity is not very close. It may be more nearly related to S. oblonga which has differently shaped leaflets and less prominent stipels.
