Description - Tree 4-15 m tall, the young branchlets densely strigose, strigulose, or rarely pilosulose; stipules usually caducous, less often deciduous or persistent, (4-)5.5-8 (-10) mm long, (0.5-) 1-1.5 mm wide, linear-lanceolate, strigulose on both surfaces or glabrous on the inner surface; petioles terete, (7-)15-20(-40) mm long, stipellate apically (the stipels to 6 mm long), strigulose or the hairs subappressed to erect, the rachis (6.5-)12-20(-30) cm long, strigulose to pilosulose, marginate, stipels 2-5 mm long at each leaflet pair; leaflets (3-)4- or 5-(-9-) jugate, the petiolules 1-2.5 mm long, pilosulose or strigulose, the blades of the lowest pair of leaflets usually smaller, (3-)6-8(-12) cm long, (1.5-)3-4(-5) cm wide, those of the other leaflets (4-)7-12(-19) cm long, 2-3.5(-6) cm wide, the blades of all the leaflets lanceolate to elliptic to oblong to elliptic-ovate, the base rounded-obtuse, sometimes slightly cordate, sometimes more or less inequilateral, the lower side a little wider, the apex bluntly acute or acuminate, the extremity mucronulate or minutely emarginate, the upper surface nitid and glabrous excepting the pilose or puberulous costa, beneath the costa pilose or strigulose, the blades glaucous or not, the costa and primary veins plane above, plane to somewhat salient beneath; inflorescences racemose, ramigerous or ramuligerous, (6.5-) 10-18(-31) cm long, the axis densely strigulose, the bracts usually persistent, sometimes deciduous, (1.5-)2-3(-4) mm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, acute, triangular to triangular-ovate, the bracteoles lacking; pedicels (3.5-)8-10(-20) mm long, densely strigulose; buds globose (4.5-)7-10 mm diameter, sparingly to densely strigulose; calyx segments 4 or 5, strigulose externally, densely strigose-sericeous within, persistent with the fruit; corolla lacking; larger stamens 2, persistent after fall of the smaller ones, the filaments stout, (4-)7(-10) mm long, sericeous-villose, the anthers oblong, (1 -)2-3 mm long, 0.7-1 mm wide, villose at the filament-attachment, the smaller stamens glabrous, the filaments (4-)8-10(-14) mm long, the anthers orbicular to oblate, ca 1 mm long and wide, the thecae black-dotted; stigma punctiform; style glabrous, 0.4-1 mm long; ovary oval to obovate, (3-)4-7 mm long, 2-3.5 mm wide, densely sericeous; gynophore (1.5-)4-6 mm long; fruits orange-colored, 4-5 cm long, 1.5-3.5 cm diameter, oval, elliptic or obovate in outline, pilose, the stipe 5-8 mm long, strigose or pilose, 1-seeded; seed coat cream-colored, thinly crustose, smooth, nitid, the aril white, covering about one-third of the seed, not laciniate marginally.
