Description - Tree 10 m tall, the branchlets black-velutinous; stipules caducous, 2.5 cm diameter, velutinous externally and marginally within; petioles terete, 4-6.5 cm long, velutinous, the rachis terete, 16-18.5 cm long, velutinous; leaflets 5-jugate, the petiolules ca 3 mm long, velutinous, the blades oval to oblong or elliptic-oblong, the basal pair smallest, 6.5-8.5 cm long, ca 5.5 cm wide, the blades of the other pairs 12-16 cm long, 6-7 cm wide, all leaflets rounded at both ends, the apex abruptly short-acute or acuminate, pilose on the upper surface of the costa, sparingly tomentose beneath, the costa and primary veins slightly impressed on the upper surface, salient beneath; inflorescence ramuligerous, 7.5-12.5 cm long, the axes velutinous, the bracts persistent, 6.5-7 mm long, 5 mm wide, broadly ovate to semicircular, velutinous externally, strigose within; pedicels 14-18 mm long, velutinous; buds oval in outline, ca 13 mm long and 10 mm diameter, velutinous; calyx segments 4 or 5, thick-coriaceous, velutinous externally, glabrous within; claw of the petal ca 4.5 mm long, the blade suborbicular in outline, ca 2.5 cm in diameter, basally cordate, villose-sericeous externally; larger stamens ca 6, glabrous, the filaments ca 18 mm long, the anthers oblong, ca 2.5 mm long and 1 mm wide, the smaller stamens glabrous, the filaments ca 7 mm long; style 6.5 mm long, glabrous except at the extreme base; ovary 7 mm long, 4 mm wide, elliptic, slightly arcuate, sericeous; gynophore 7 mm long, sericeous; fruit not seen.
