Through the Virtual Herbarium, The New York Botanical Garden is committed to making specimen data and specimen images from its vast herbarium collections available online. Label data from a substantial portion of the Garden’s holdings of Swartzia, including all type specimens and all specimens from Brazil and French Guiana are already available, as are data from selected specimens from other regions. In the near future, we will further populate this module with extensive data from herbaria throughout the world with important collections of Swartzia. In the meantime, please contact Benjamin Torke to request access to our complete database of ca. 9,000 individual collections (not counting specimen duplicates).
