Habitat:

North-facing mesic slope and dolomite bluff. With Quercus rubra, Quercus alba, Tilia americana and Acer saccharum; river floodplain with Acer saccharinum, Celtis occidentalis and Acer negundo. On shaded mesic chert on lower bluff face.
