Habitat:

extensive swamp/swale system dominated by maple (Acer) and gray birch (Betula populifolia) and bordered by huckleberry (Gaylussacia), with sandy ridges grading into mixed pine (Pinus) - oak (Quercus) forest. on the trunk of a small red maple (Acer rubrum).
