Habitat:

Upland pine (Pinus) - oak (Quercus) forests intermixed among extensive red maple (Acer rubru,) swamps, Atlantic white cedar (Chamaecyparis thyoides) swamps, and abandoned cranberry bogs. Lichenicolous on thalli of Cladonia (sp. C. atlantica).
