Habitat:

Outcrops of Ogallala Formation, and highly erodable sandstone formation below, in short-grass prairie on steep, S-facing slope above Cimarron River; and Populus deltoides (-Tamarix ramosissima) woodland along N side of river. Soil silty to sandy. Locally common on outcrop.
