Although databasing of the lichen herbarium at The New York Botanical Garden is an ongoing effort all of the lichens from the Ozark Ecoregion have been databased. The database also includes Doug Ladd’s personal collection (Ladd), Missouri specimens housed at the Morton Arboretum (MOR) and Ozark collections in the U.S. National Herbarium (US) . In total there some 22,000 records. To the left is a specimen based dynamic checklist that reflects our current understanding of the lichen biota of the region. Any deviations from standardized references such as the North American Lichen Checklistreflect our ongoing research. Clicking on a species name will lead the user to the full records of the specimens examined. To search the Ozark Lichens specimen dataset consult the “Specimens” tab above.
