Description:
Species Description - Herbs to 0.4 m tall. Leaves one to several on each shoot, the shoots clustered; petiole winged for 1/2 length to ± throughout; blade herbaceous, ca. 5-25 X 3-8 cm. Inflorescences terminal on leafy shoot, the peduncle ca. 5-15 cm long, the flower-bearing portion 1-1.8 X 0.5-1.5 cm, the bracts acute to acuminate at apex. Flowers white, unpaired chasmogamous flowers often present in uppermost leaf axil.
Distribution and Ecology - Fl (Feb); in primary forest.
