Description:

Small erect herb with wiry stems to about 8 cm. high. Stems dark purplish-red, sepals reddish-purple. Corolla bright yellow, paler on lowre surface. Protruberance of lower lip brighter yellow. Fruit dark. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Mixed restinga, mainly high restinga on drier ground, with areas of normally wet sedge meadow.
