Description:

A lofty tree climber in dense woods of ravines; stems 1/2 inch thick, pliable, covered with rather smooth brown bark, the wood whitish except for the blackish central portion; branches many forming hanging tangled mosses, green; petiole also green ascending and strongly recurved from near the base; blade flat smooth and dark green above, much lighter green beneath; coriaceous, panicles one to few from the same base along the older branches, entirely green except the shining somewhat flattened vermillion red fruits which contain a solitary compressed and rugosely surfaced stone.
