Description:

Species Description - Very similar to, and sometimes confused with, Symbolanthus magnificus Gilg, which has an Andean and north Venezuelan distribution. In this latter species the sepals are obtuse, the corolla lobes not reflexed, and the stems less sharply wing-angled. The stems of S. elisabethae are characteristically sharply wing-angled, the sepals acute, the throat of the corolla is white or pinkstriped, and the lobes are reflexed.
