Description:

Stems cespitose, to 3 m tall. 4 cm diam. spiny, covered with persistent dead leaf shaths. Leaves 8; shath 35c, long, with few long, black spines; piteole 120 cm long wiht few very long black spines; rachis 108 cm long'pinnae 30 per side, clu.
