Bolivia. Tarija. Gran Chaco Prov. 24.4 km ESE of Villa Montes on new highway to Isibobo and Paraguay, measuring from the intersection in Villa Montes of Boyuibe-Yacuiba highway. Alt. 355 m. (1165 ft.)

Description:

Solid patch of sprawling stems, the same species as no. 54797. Flowers open (3:00 P.M., sunny), but anthers appear damaged from earlier visits by bees and no visitors seen now; flower face held vertically. Corolla white with yellow-green star; anthers only slightly unequal, yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Through flat clayey chaco forest, on unshaded disturbed soil of recent road construction. Surrounded by mats of Euphorbia serpens.
