Description:
Species Description - Rhizome long-creeping, 1-2 mm diam.; rhizome scales 1-2 mm long, concolorous, brown, lanceolate, entire; fronds monomorphic to subdimorphic, coriaceous; stipe 1/10-1/3 the frond length, stramineous; blade lanceolate, 12-22 cm long, 8-22 mm wide, apex acute to acuminate, base cuneate; rachis with scattered lanceolate scales 1-2 mm long, lower surface with sparse round scales (0.3 mm diam.) and rare lanceolate scales (1 mm long), margin fimbriate; veins anastomosing, immersed on lower surface; sori round, slightly sunken, with dense, filiform scales branching from the base into several reddish-brown hairlike segments, nearly obscuring sporangia.

Discussion:
Polypodiumpercussum Cavanilles, Descr. pl. 243. 1802. Pleopeltis percussa (Cavanilles) Hooker & Greville, Icon fil. 1: t. 67. 1828. Type. Peru [incorrectly stated as Mariannas by Cavanilles]. NĂ©es.n. (MA, seen and commented on by Christensen, Dansk Bot. Ark. 9(3): 11. 1937). See discussion under generic description. Microgramma percussa is distinct by its sori with dense cushion of hairlike scales, small round abaxial blade scales and coriaceous blade, usually with acuminate apex.
