Description: Shrub or small tree, 2-3 m. Young stems terete, sparsely puberulent with sessile-stellate hairs and densely covered in elongated setae 0.8-1.9 mm, internodes longitudinal ridges absent, nodal line absent. Leaves isophyllous; petiole 1.4-2.7 cm long, pubescent with sessile-stellate and densely covered in elongated, setae 0.6-1.2 mm; the blade 8.2-13.1 x 3-7.3 cm, ovate-elliptic, bullate, the apex narrowly acute, the base obtuse, the margin spinulose; secondary veins 2 pairs, plinnerved, [diverging 0.2-1.1 cm above the base, occasionally asymmetrical by 0.5 mm], tertiary veins percurrent, quaternary veins reticulate, areoles 0.9-2.4 mm wide, veins flat on the adaxial surface and raised on the abaxial surface; adaxial surface bullate, the surface and veins glabrous; abaxial surface pubescent with sessile-stellate trichomes and elongated slightly roughened trichomes 0.3-0.8 mm, pubescent on the veins as on the surface. Inflorescences a terminal panicle, 8.6-11.1 cm long; peduncles terete, pale green, pubescent with sessile-stipitate trichomes and elongated setae 0.9-1.3 mm; bracts caducous; bracteoles 1.9-3.4 x 0.7-1.3 mm, lanceolate, persistent, pubescent with sessile-stellate trichomes, margins spinulose. Flowers 6(-7)-merous, diplostemonous, pedicel 2.5-9.3 mm long, pubescent with sessile-stellate trichomes. Hypanthium 4.5 mm long, campanulate, 7.0 mm wide at torus, external surface pubescent with some stipitate-stellate trichomes and elongated setae 3.5-5.9 mm long, internal surface glabrous, androecial fringe absent. Calyx open in bud, the tube 1 mm long at anthesis, the lobes 2.0-3.0 x 1.5-3.1 mm, ovate oblong, pubescent as in the hypanthium; calyx teeth stout and densely bristled, 0.8-1.4 x 0.3-0.6 mm. Petals-6(-7), 7.1-13.7 x 5.5-6.4 mm, obovate, glabrous, the apex rounded, the base truncate, tapering slightly, the margin entire. Stamens, isomorphic, filament 6.6-7.5 mm long, glabrous, anthers with 2 locules, thecae 4.9-6.7 x 0.7-1.9 mm, straight, connective prolonged 0.4-0.5 mm, opening by 1 upright 0.4-0.5 mm pore, glabrous. Ovary 6(-7) locular, inferior, the free portion projecting 2.2-3.5 mm, globose, the apex absent a corona; style 8.4 mm long, straight, glabrous; stigma capitate, 1.4-1.9 mm wide. Berries 4.7-8.8 x 4.5-8.7 mm, ovoid , pubescence persistent when mature, calyx persistant.
