Description: Shrub or tree, up to 1.5-7 m. Young stems terete to caniculate, pubescent with elongated trichomes and glands 1.5-10.1 mm, internodes longitudinal ridges absent, nodal line absent. Leaves isophyllous; petiole 2.2-6.9(-10.8) cm long, pubescent with elongated trichomes, occasionally glandular 1.8-8.6 mm long; the blade 10.1-25 x 7-16.1 cm, ovate, chartaceous, the apex acuminate, the base rounded to cordate, the margin crenate to dentate, ciliate, with trichomes 0.8-3.1 mm long; secondary veins 3 pairs, basally, no faint marginals, tertiary veins percurent, quaternary veins reticulate, areoles 1.5-4.8 mm wide, veins flat on the adaxial surface and raised on the abaxial surface; adaxial surface chartaceous to subbullate, the surface pubescent with trichomes 1.2-2.6 mm, and pubescent as in the surface on the primary and secondary veins; abaxial surface pubescent with elongated trichomes 0.5-1.6 mm, more densely pubescent on secondary veins than on the surface. Inflorescences terminal and umbellate, 2.7-5.6 cm long; peduncles terete to slightly caniculate, pubescent with elongated trichomes and glands 1.8-4.9 mm; bracts caducous; bracteoles 1.2-2.3 x 0.2-0.9 mm, lanceolate, persistent, pubescent as in the inflorescence with elongated trichomes. Flowers 8-merous, diplostemonous with pedicel 3-16 mm long, pubescent as in the inflorescence. Hypanthium 7-8 mm long, campanulate, 3.7-6.7 mm wide at torus, external surface pubescent as in the inflorescence. Calyx open in bud, cuplike, the tube 2.5-4 mm long at anthesis, the lobes 1.2-4.0 x 1.0-2.0 mm, pubescent as in the hypanthium; calyx teeth acerose, 1.8-4.2 x 0.1-0.4 mm, pubescent as in the hypanthium. Petals-8, 11.5-14(-21) x 6-8.5 mm, oblong-obovate, spreading, white at anthesis (drying brown), glabrous, the apex rounded, the base truncate, the margin entire. Stamens isomorphic, flexed to one side of the flower at anthesis; filament 5-5.5 mm long, glabrous, white; anthers with 2 locules, thecae 5-10 x 0.9-1.2 mm, straight, opening by 1 upright 0.3-0.4 mm pore, white at anthesis, connective prolonged below the thecae 0.4-0.5 mm, glabrous. Ovary 8-locular, ovoid; style 10-11 mm long, straight, white, glabrous; stigma capitate, glandular, 1.5-3 mm wide. Berries 0.9-1.2 x 0.7-1.2 mm, ovoid, red, pubescence persistent when mature, calyx persistent.
