Type: Venezuela. Amazonas: Cerro la Neblina, 1800 m, 12 NOV 1957, Maguire, Wurdack & Maguire 42055 (holotype US; isotypes K, NY, U, VEN).
Description: Abaxial surface of the leaves foveolate; domatia rarely developed, immersed in the leaf blade, ovoid to elliptic, 0.4-1.0 x 0.3-0.6 cm.
Habitat and Distribution: Endemic to the slopes and summits of Cerro La Neblina in S Venezuela. Growing in forests and swamps from 1200 to 2100 m. Even though this species has not been collected outside of Venezuela, it probably occurs in the Brazilian side of Neblina.
