Type: Brazil. Santa Catarina: Itajaí, Morro da Ressacada, alt. 10-20m. R.Klein 1344 (holotype: US, isotype: HBR-2 sheets).
Description: Leaf blades 11.5-26 x 4.5-11 cm, chartaceous, abaxial surface covered by a ferrugineous, rarely canescent, indument. Hypanthium 2.3-2.7 mm long; torus moderately covered by stipitate-glandular trichomes. Calyx tube 0.6-0.7 mm long, inner lobes 0.2-0.3 mm long. Petals 3.5-4.5 x 2.6 mm. Filaments 3.1-4.5 mm long, glabrous to moderately covered by stipitate-glandular trichomes; connectives glabrous to moderately covered by stipitate-glandular trichomes, the ones from the small stamens with a dorsal tooth and two tiny ventral lobes, from the longer stamens with a skirt-like appendage; anthers yellow, 2.5-3.2 mm long, Ovary 1.3-1.5 mm long, apex glabrous to moderately glandular; style 6.8-8.2 mm long, glabrous to parsely coverder by stipitate-glandular trichomes.
Habitat and Distribution: Miconia cinerascens var. robusta is known from the sea leavel to 750, in the Atlantic Forest s.s., from Santa Catarina state to Rio de Janeiro.
