Description: Leaf blades 6-13(20) x 1.4-4.5(8) cm, membranaceous, abaxial surface covered by a canescent indument. Hypanthium 1.7-2.1 mm long; torus glabrous. Calyx tube 0.3-0.5 mm long, inner lobes ca. 0.2 mm long. Petals 2-2.3 x 1.6-1.7 mm. Filaments 1.5-2.6 mm long, glabrous or occasionaly with few stipitate-glandular trichomes; connectives glabrous or occasionally with few stipitate-glandular trichomes, with a dorsal tooth and sometimes two tiny ventral lobes; anthers white, 1.3-2 mm long, Ovary 1 mm long, apex moderately covered by sessile-stellate trichomes; style 3.3-4.3 mm long, glabrous to sparsely covered by stipitate-glandular trichomes.
Habitat and Distribution: This variety is characteristic of the Araucaria Forest and the Seasonal Forest, in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and Rio de Janeiro. Its occurance at the sea level is rare (Laguna/Santa Catarina, Torres/Rio Grande do Sul).
