Description:

Scandent upon small trees; stems round, branched, climbing, 1 inch thick, rather rigid, with yellowish gray, thinly checked bark; wood sappy, white, odorless and tasteless, with a large pith; leaves in subwhorl, horizontally spreading or descending, flat, only the tips recurved, coriaceous, deep green above, much paler beneath; young infrutescence along the branchlets, suberect, reddish, terete peduncles; the greenish-white, globose young fruits or buds (?) subtended by reddish, caducous bracts. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
