Location:

Brazil. Santa Catarina. Serra do Rio do Rastro about 11 km beyond Bom Jardim da Serra en route to Lauro Müller. Alt. 1413 m. (4636 ft.)

Description:

Suffrutescent herb to 0.6 m tall. Flowers 5-merous. Petals pink. Only one of the five large anthers fertile, the others staminodial and filamentous. Anthers yellow like the appendages. Small anthers 4 and fertile, also yellow. Locally common.

Habitat:

Open boggy vegetation with low shrubs and rocks.
