Description:

Woody shrub to three meters. Leaves opposite and decussate, one of a pair usually smaller and without domatia; the larger of a pair with domatia on the leaf base or the petiole. Calyx in a tube, with a small number of long white-green hairs. Corolla with four petals, white-green to transparent, small. Berry purple, comparatively large. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Rain forest, slightly disturbed by selective tree felling.
