Description:

Scandent shrub; stem terete, 1 inch thick, flexible, numerously bramched at the top and the branches forming a tangeled mass; wood whitish, soft, odorless, and tasteless; bark grayish, thick, smooth or lenticeled or minutely checked; leaves coriaceous, ascendingly recurved, dull green above, much lighter green beneath; infructescence axillary, ascending; the pedicels purplish; fruits short, ovoid, deep purple, 3/8 inches in diameter. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
Habitat:

Upon small tree of a dry wooded ridge.
