Description:

Shrub. Subprostrate, procumbent ligneous shrub, stems to 2 m; leaves subcoriaceous, dark green above with sulcate nerves, pale green below, revolute; peduncle dull purple; calyx dull green to deep maroon; petals rose-red; anthers orchid; filaments whitish.
